“REDEEMING GRACE MINISTRIES was established in 1998 as a way to bring Christ-centered education to pastors and congregations around the world, with a view to helping them start a local Bible Institute for serious students who cannot afford a first-rate education. As a general rule, we focus on the developing nations and seek to bring a greater understanding of the Bible to those people.”
—Dr. Stanford E. Murrell
Founder of Redeeming Grace Ministries
By the grace of God, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the atoning work of Christ at Calvary, Stanford E. Murrell was converted at an early age. From his youth, Stan sensed a call to preach the gospel and gave his first public sermon at the age of 14 at the Gospel Rescue Mission in Dallas, Texas. The following year, he was licensed to preach by the Coliseum Place Baptist Church in New Orleans, Louisiana.
In June 1972, after graduating from Sunset High School in Dallas, Texas, he entered the U.S. Army to serve as a Chaplain’s Assistant. Following three years of active duty, he attended Ft. Hays State University in Hays, Kansas where he received a teaching degree in secondary education after studying American history. During his years in college, Stan served as the pastor of a church in Mankato, Kansas where he met and married Marta Leonard. In 1980, Stan was ordained to the gospel ministry by Calvary Bible Church in Rogers, Arkansas.
Together, Stan and Marta have two children and seven grandchildren. Their son, Adam, is a former Navy officer and is the founder of Ichthus Publications. He and his wife Laura have four children. Their daughter, Tara, is a registered nurse and is the mother of three children.
Stan has been awarded a B.A. and an M.A. in History from Ft. Hays State University, Hays, Kansas, and a M. Div. and Th.D. from Trinity Theological Seminary.
He is author of more than forty books including The Most Glorious Institution: The Church in History (2 Vols.), A New Covenant in Christ: A Survey of the New Testament, The Sovereign Grace New Testament and The Great Tribulation: A Historical Reality For Those Who Have Been Taught to Fear the Future.
Stan has also been a Christian schoolteacher, a Christian school administrator, and a pastor for more than five decades of public ministry. He now resides in Viera, Florida where he travels the world to preach the doctrines of God’s sovereign and saving grace. His ministry has taken him to more than twelve foreign nations, and his writings have gone across the United States, as well as into more than forty-three foreign countries. Stan is committed to providing free gospel literature to all who request it. To that end, Redeeming Grace Ministries, a 501(c) organization, was established in 1998.
