“Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor” (Ex. 20:16).
“But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ” (Eph. 4:15).
Many Americans are in a state of bondage to those who are lying to them. That this bondage is a voluntary bondage of their own making, does not make the mental, emotional, and intellectual incarceration less real. Bondage is bondage, no matter how a person becomes enslaved. But there is hope. God has given to humanity the Ninth Royal Commandment, which, when followed, brings freedom with all of its supportive blessings. Simply stated, God says, “Thou Shalt Not Lie.”
Kelli Mahoney notes that “The ninth commandment of the Bible reminds us not to lie, or in some circles “bear false witness.” When we walk away from the truth, we walk away from God. There are often consequences to lying, whether or not we get caught. Being honest can sometimes seem like the difficult decision, but when we learn how to be honest, well, we know it is the right decision.”
For one brief shining moment, let those enslaved to the lies of society be honest with themselves, and admit the truth. Pick up the key of truth, and find freedom.
The First Truth. God does exist. God does not need to prove His existence. When pressed, the Lord says, “I AM WHO I AM” (Ex. 3:14). Rail against God if you must, deny His existence at your own peril, but God lives, and He is not silent in the universe. Hear God as He says, “I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” (NIV)
The Second Truth. Donald Trump is the legitimate President of the United States. If Special Counsel Robert Mueller, and his staff of 19 anti-Trump lawyers, could not find it in themselves to indict the President, it is because they were compelled to bow before objective reality. There was no collusion with the Russians by Republicans, and there was no obstruction of justice by the President. After 22 month, 30 million dollars, 500 witnesses, 2800 subpoenas, and 1.2 million documents examined by 40 FBI agents, there is not a shred of evidence that the President of the United States did anything wrong. The foundation of American jurisprudence is that a person is innocent until proven guilty. Righteousness exalts a nation (Prov. 14:34), not false accusations, despicable innuendos, and a partisan witch hunt.
The Third Truth. God has made male and female. There are no transgenders. “Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created” (Gen. 5:2). Transgender athletes are nothing more than pretentious individuals who cannot compete fairly, and so must find a way to deceive, and take from others their glory and honor in a legitimate competition.
The Fourth Truth. Abortion is killing a human being, made in the image of God. No amount of twisting of words will alter the fact that the baby in the womb is a person, made in the image of God, with a foreordained purpose in life. “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations” (Jer. 1:5).
The Fifth Truth. Homosexuals are not married. Marriage is between one man and one woman. “And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder” (Matt. 19:5-6). To pretend a man can have a husband and lead a godly nation is preposterous for it makes language nonsensical and violates logic, and nature.
The Sixth Truth. The Muslim religion is not presently a religion of peace, tolerance, and universal brotherhood, but a religion that officially, and theologically, promotes hatred, genocide against Jews, mass murder of all infidels, and fanatical suicide missions without mercy. When the Muslims chant, “Death to America!” they mean it.
The Seventh Truth. A nation without borders is no nation at all. Moreover, nationalism is by Divine design. God has determined how long each nation shall last, and the boundaries of their borders (Acts 17:26). Americans once understood this, and spoke of the nation’s “Manifest Destiny.”
The Eighth Truth. Capitalism is superior to Socialism. Capitalism has lifted more people out of poverty and obscurity than any other economic engine in human history. The essence of capitalism is unselfishness for it compels individuals to provides goods and services that benefit others at a competitive price. It encourages freedom, innovation, creativity, and hard work. The Biblical principle is that “if anyone will not work, neither let him eat” (2 Thess. 3:10). In contrast, Socialism steals the labor of others for selfish purposes. It deprives individuals of personal responsibility, and incentive, while promoting a false sense of security, and virtue.
The Ninth Truth. Man-made global warming is a comical, but tragic hoax, which is designed to do what Communism and Government has failed to do, and that is control every facet of a person’s life through concentrated governmental power. That there is climate change is precisely what the Bible predicts, for climate change is ordained by God. It is part of the unconditional Noahic Covenant that includes seasonal changes, not annihilation. “While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease” (Gen. 8:22). It is a silly lie, promoted by a foolish woman, and her ruthless cohorts, that predicts the earth will end in twelve years.
The Tenth Truth. Every person is born physically alive, but spiritually dead in the sight of God. Every person needs a Savior, who is Jesus Christ, the righteous Son of the living God. No one can save themselves through goods works, or any form of merit. Faith alone, in Christ alone, by grace alone, will save a soul. “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
“In times like these, we need a Savior
In times like these, we need an anchor
Be very sure, be very sure
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock
This Rock is Jesus, Yes, He’s the one
This Rock is Jesus, The only One
Be very sure, be very sure
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock.”
Ruth Caye Jones
In times like these, we need the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
