“Democrats Are Planning to Remove ‘So Help You God’ from Oath Taken Before Key House Committee”
“The specific oath that is to be changed is the one asked to witnesses.
The original oath states “Do you solemnly swear or affirm, under penalty of law, that the testimony that you are about to give is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you God?”
However, a draft of the rules change that was released by Fox News shows that lawmakers are attempting to strike out “so help you God.” House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney slammed the proposed rule change.
“It is incredible, but not surprising, that the Democrats would try to remove God from committee proceedings in one of their first acts in the majority,” said Cheney to Fox News. “They really have become the party of Karl Marx.”
There have been other attempts to take mentions of God out of politics, with the 2012 Democratic National Convention changing a reference to “God” after heavy criticism from Republicans for omitting it.
The Natural Resources Committee, chaired by Democratic Arizona Rep. Raúl Grijalva, oversees national parks, wildlife, and energy. The committee will vote on the change this week.”
Whether or not the Democrats will follow through with the 2019 rule change is yet to be determined, but, if the past is a guide to the future, then the effort to remove God from their conscience, and from their politics, is sure to happen. Democrats have been trying to remove God for a long time. This fact is reflected in the article posted on March 15, 2017, by Salena Zito: “Democrats Still Haven’t Faced their God Problem.”
Simply put, as a political party, Democrats officially want nothing to do with God, even though, for purposes of political expediency, late term baby killers like Governor Cuomo and far left Liberal activist, such as Kamala Harris, will invoke the Lord’s name in a public speech. So there are practicing atheist and there are practical atheists.
The practicing atheist boldly asserts, “There is no God.” Then, many atheist proceed to explain why they hate God. In January, 2019 a fellow customer in a store in Melbourne, Florida engaged me in a religious discussion. He informed me that the God of the Old Testament, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of Leviticus was a—then he used a blasphemous description.
A reasonable person would ask why the man was so upset, so emotional, so hostile to Someone he claims does not even exist. When I pointed out to him that, logically, he could not possibly be an atheist, but he could be an honest agnostic, he tried to be clever and say he was an agnostic atheist. No, what he is, is a fool, according to the living God. The Bible says, “The fool has said in his heart, there is no God” (Psalm 14:1).
Then, there is the practical atheist. This is the person who lives life as if God does not exist. The practicing atheist, and the practical atheist, have this in common, they want nothing to do with God. By embracing this objective, they become foolish.
Biblically, the foolish person is the individual who is self-sufficient.
The fool is the person who believes that time, plus space, plus chance equals everything.
The fool is the person who believes humans can destroy God’s creation.
The fool is the person who believes people can cause global climate change.
The fool is the person who religiously insists on global warming during record years of freezing temperatures.
The fool is the person who cries, “THE WORLD WILL END IN TWELVE YEARS!”
The fool is the person who believes they know best how to live life, not just their own life, but how best others are to live.
The fool seeks to control every facet of society through centralized government planning. Health care, the mode of transportation, how much diet coke a person should drink, whether or not straws are safe to use, how much milk, bread, and butter a person should enjoy, how much money an individual should be able to keep—well, all these matters are best left to the person who denies God, or denies He is relevant, but then acts God-like by sovereignly controlling life while telling everyone which moral virtues they are to have.
For example, if you love your family and your country and want to keep others safe by building a wall, that is IMMORAL. And if you do not want to spend the money giving universal free health care, free college tuition, and free contraception, then you are not virtuous. You are IMMORAL. If you do not support the green energy program heartedly you are IMMORAL. If you think human are more important than animals, you are IMMORAL. If you do not believe that a mother in labor should be allowed to murder her baby in the 40th week of life, you are IMMORAL. The state planners, the socialist, the current Democrat party of Karl Marx, led by Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez know best. They are in a position to know there is no God, or at least, God is not necessary. In fact, religion is the opium of the people. This must be true. Karl Marx said it (A Contribution to the Critique of Hegel’s Philosophy of Right, 1843), they believe it, and that settled it.
There is a Way Out
For those who do not want to be part of a godless political organization, there is something that can be done. “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty” (2 Cor. 6:17). Do not give up your religion. Do not substitute the God of the Judeo-Christian faith for Karl Marx and the socialism of the Democratic Party. It is too high a price to pay. Your soul is of more value. Have faith in God. He is on the throne. Have faith in God. He will take care of His own. God will take care of you, not government. Government is not God, no matter how much it wants to be.
