“But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.” –Luke 18:16

“Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.” (Psalm 127:3).

On Thursday, September 13, 2018, Chelsea Clinton spoke during a Sirius XM radio show about her thoughts on Roe v. Wade. The former first daughter said it would be “unchristian” to take away women’s access to safe, legal abortions. Conversely, it would be a Christian act to have an  abortion, thereby terminating the life of an unborn child. Chelsea Clinton said this “as a deeply religious person.”

I do not know what her deeply held religious beliefs are, but I do know on this issue they cannot possible be Christian. Jesus would not kill babies. While the Lord Jesus is merciful and kind to the chief of sinners, such as Saul of Tarsus, while there is mercy for all, abortion doctors and women who allowed their babies to be terminated, based upon gospel repentance, Jesus would never authorize the mindless slaughter of the unborn, because a baby is unplanned for, unwanted, potentially defected, or, inconvenient. There is nothing in 2000 plus years of Christian faith and practice whereby abortions are authorized or sanctioned. The history of the Church is to protect the life of the unborn, not to destroy it.

Even the non-Christian world once shuttered at abortion reflected in the Hippocratic Oath. Hippocrates lived between 460 and 370 BC. Doctors once pledged with integrity to his Oath, part of which says,

“I will neither give a deadly drug to anybody who asked for it, nor will I make a suggestion to this effect. Similarly I will not give to a woman an abortive remedy. In purity and holiness I will guard my life and my art.”

Once, the whole world believed in men and women of medicine who had honor. Once the world esteemed men and women in medicine who had integrity. Once men and women who championed life could hold their heads high, and walk with pride, for they were the symbols and advocates of hope and life. That was the position of the non-Christian community. But all that has now changed. Esteemed doctors write esoteric articles questioning whether or not the Hippocratic Oath is outdated, since it does not fit modern moral values.

The reality is that the Hippocratic Oath has never reflected contemporary virtuous moral values. It rose above the morality of Greek society. The truth is that the human heart has always been depraved. Since the beginning of time, many men and women have forgotten to love their children, and sought to kill the unborn. That was true when Hippocrates lived, or he would not have taken an oath against abortion.

Again, in her zealotry to support abortion at all cost, Chelsea Clinton does not reflect the position of modern women. Chelsea Clinton represents the position of a select number of women throughout the ages who have acted, for selfish reasons, and in a manner inconsistent with giving life to the unborn.

Chelsea Clinton’s position on killing babies is as un-Christ-like, as humanly possible. She should admit it. She should be ashamed for stating that it a Christian act to have an abortion. Chelsea must apologize, not only to the Church, but to the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. Her offensive statement is an open assault against every honorable anti-abortion doctor, every concerned nurse, every Christian man, woman, child who loves life and children. The remarks of Chelsea Clinton are an offense to Almighty God.

And that is the memo. I hope she gets it.
