Franklin Graham, son of world renowned evangelist Billy Graham, on January 14, 2015, called upon donors and alumni of Duke University in Durham, N. C., a school founded by Quakers and Methodist, to withhold their financial support until Duke reverses its new policy of allowing the Muslim Call to Prayer on Fridays to be given from their chapel bell tower. “As Christianity is being excluded from the public square and followers of Islam are raping, butchering, and beheading Christians, Jews, and anyone who doesn’t submit to their Sharia Islamic law, Duke is promoting this in the name of religious pluralism,” he said.
Mr. Graham is not wrong with this call for Christians to reconsider how best to invest the money God has entrusted to them. Every believer is to be a good steward of all their resources. Money is an important resource. God’s money is not to be squandered in riotous living, nor is it to be recklessly given to those who would kill fellow Christians, Jews, and others who do not submit to the Muslim faith.
Make no mistake about it, the Muslims who are raping, butchering, and beheading Christians are not radical terrorists but faithful adherents of the core beliefs of the Islamic religion. State Department officials and White House spokes personnel may reclassify these practitioners of the Muslim faith as being extremists, but those doing the raping, butchering, and beheadings, those imposing Sharia law, those who are defending the honor of their prophet do not consider themselves to be radical or extremist.
The practitioners of jihad have studied the Koran and know precisely what it teaches and promotes. They have studied the life of their prophet and about the child-bride he had, how many virgins he enjoyed, how many women he subjugated, how often the prophet said a woman could be beaten, and how many wives a man may have. The followers of their prophet know precisely how many heads he loped off on his bloody quest for a following and territorial domination.
Qur’an (4:34) “Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great.”
Qur’an (38:44) “And take in your hand a green branch and beat her with it, and do not break your oath…” Allah telling Job to beat his wife (Tafsir).
Consider this scenario. A 49 year old man asks his best friend if he could have his permission to marry his 6 year old daughter. His friend agrees. The man then visits his best friend’s house and speaks with the 6 year old daughter. Her parents watch as the man proposes marriage to their child. He is sincere when he announces he wants to marry the little girl and is asking for her consent. The little child says nothing. She only stares at the large man before her in silence.
Islamic source materials state that Muhammad proposed marriage to her when she was 6. Aisha made this statement herself (Sahih Bukhari volume 5, book 58, number 234). It is a matter of history. Muhammad assumed the silence of the child as constituting her consent. Some 2 to 3 years later, just after he had fled to Medina, the prophet of Islam consummated his marriage with his child bride. He was 52 and she was 9. Again, it is a matter of history.
More than one person has noted that Islam is the only religion that will kill a person for not appreciating it, or dishonoring their prophet, and then claim the murdered victim is the one with the phobia and was worthy of being butchered.
Mr. Graham is not simply calling for Duke University and the donors of that institution to engage in financial responsibility, but also to remember the spiritual heritage of the university. Mr. Graham knows that those who do not honor the Lord Jesus Christ and worship the God of the Bible will soon find that they cannot worship Him. The enemy of freedom and the Christian faith will prevail if Christians refuse to put a halt to political correctness and religious madness for evil is militant, and it is determined.
The good news is that God will not allow the Muslim faith to prevail against the church. No matter how many Christians the faithful practitioners of the Muslim religion rape, butcher, behead, flog, enslave, or demand tribute of, in the end the faithful Muslim practitioners shall perish for time and for eternity. That is the promise of God’s Word. Christians will yet prevail over practicing Muslims in as far as Christians reconsider where their treasure is and remain faithful to their spiritual heritage. Mr. Graham is to be commended for his bold and public stand for Jesus Christ. It takes courage to stand up for Jesus Christ.
